Discover a yoga-based approach to post-traumatic growth and healing.
This three-day training is designed to introduce yoga teachers, professional caregivers, and interested individuals to our empirically-validated approach to Trauma-Informed Yoga.
Feet on the Ground is a nonprofit organization that works at the intersection of neuroscience, mental health, and somatic practices, and aims to forward the use of holistic interventions for post-traumatic resilience and growth.
In this immersive introduction to our mind-body approach to working with trauma, you will learn:
- Classifications of trauma: definitions and types of trauma
- The neuroscience of trauma: how trauma manifests in the body and brain
- How research-informed, yoga-based practices can support post-traumatic growth and healing
- Somatic practices for self-awareness, agency, empathy, emotional regulation, and resilience
- The key principles and themes of Trauma-Informed Yoga; how to lead a Trauma-Informed Yoga class and how to integrate TIY techniques into your regular yoga classes
- The importance of self-care: how to avoid (and deal with) burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma
